Pastor Cory P. Pariseau

Welcome to Parenting Pathways!

It is an honor to present this support program to those who have come to a crossroads in their family life and are looking for a new direction for a healthier family.  We are here to help change the old patterns of parenting and be of support to you as you go through the Children's Services system in order to help you find that new path and come out with a brighter future for you and your family.

  • We understand that going through child protective services
is not easy in any way!
  • We understand that you probably feel like you are all alone.
  • We understand the confusion and complications of the system.

Why do we understand? We are a group of parents that have been through the Children's Services system.  Some of us have successfully made it through the system to reunite with our families and some of us have learned how to let go in hopes of giving our children a better chance at life. This is why we can understand what you're going through and why we wish to be a support to you at this time in your life. We know that at times the pain and frustration is so intense that we have felt like no one could possibly understand or help emotionally support us…unless they had been through it themselves.

As C.E.O. and Founder of Parenting Pathways and as both a child and a parent who's been through the Children's Services system, I know the trials and pains of going through the system from both aspects. For much of my life I had been in the system one way or another.  As a young child, I went into the foster care system when I was 4 years old.  A dozen foster homes and two children's homes later, I was finally adopted at the age of 7. By the time I was 29 I had 3 children of my own and through some bad choices I made (and in an ironic twist of fate), I lost the kids to Children's Services…this after losing my marriage, my job, and everything I had worked for all my life to that point.  I found myself in a mental institution for 6 weeks and God came into my life and allowed me start on the journey of faith and in getting my family back.

A family reunited...

In July 2001 the kids came back to stay with me for good. It was a hard and confusing journey.  With everything I went through, I did find a system of support for single parents, but I often thought that a system of support, giving back and sharing with those other families who were going down the same path (of being involved with Children's Services) would have been a true blessing to me. Thus Parenting Pathways was born.

It doesn't matter what path you took to get here as long as you're looking for a new direction, a better pathway for you and your family for the future. Parenting Pathways can be of great support to you if you will simply take a chance to open your heart and mind to others who have been in or are going through the system. Please remember that this is a temporary setback in your situation, so you don't have to feel it is too hard or that you are all alone…we can help you understand and navigate the system so that you won't have to feel confused and overwhelmed by it all. You don't have to go this journey alone and with other parents and families who've been there to help you walk that pathway, your family can come through stronger and better than ever before.

Sincerely Yours,

Cory P. Pariseau
