Parenting Pathways' mission is to empower,
strengthen, and lead parents who are struggling with reunification with their children through the Child Protection Agencies and to assist all parents who are in need of support.
How will we help these families?
Parent Group:
This will be an open group of parents and mentors who come together once a week to support and encourage one another in the daily challenges of
raising our children and other problems in life. Both parents who have successfully "graduated" from the Child Protective Services (CPS) and those parents who are still struggling with CPS
requirements are invited to be part of this group.
Parent to Parent Mentor:
Experience with the Children's Services System?
The heart of the program is a
parent-to-parent match of experienced parents who have learned by striving through the CPS programs with those parents who are in need of support while working through the CPS process. This mentoring will
provide information, support and encouragement to those parents and caregivers experiencing frustration, anger, and confusion trying to complete the CPS requirements.
Empowering:
The benefits of
this program will be the empowering of families with the necessary parenting skills and emotional stability to make positive changes and choices for their families.
Strengthening:
Asking for
help is indeed a sign of strength. Those parents and caregivers joining our program will receive vital support to stay committed and focused in reaching their goal of reunification. Their parenting skills
will also be strengthened through education and training.
Parent Leadership:
Parenting Pathways is a person-centered program, which is parent leadership based. The healing and growth will evolve
naturally through the parent to parent mentorship program which offers support and advocacy for each individual family.
Reunification:
The ultimate goal of the Parenting Pathways is successful
reunification. By implementing the skills and support received from this program our hope is that families will be reunited, the family structure will be strengthened, and the necessary healing will begin.
